Our Time Together - Truth - Week 4

Full Armor Ministries

Purpose: Claim victory for the things you have agreed with God to change

Objective: Rejoice that God has strengthened both you and your family

First Day
Pray
:
Suggested Model Prayer for starting Our Time Together: Heavenly Father, we accept Your Word as our standard and judge for living righteously. We confess our sins so that Your Holy Spirit will teach us Your love, forgiveness, power, and Word during this family time together. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Read Ephesians 6:13 aloud:

“Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground.”

Each family member, tell one thing that you have chosen to change about your own truthfulness.  Claim victory in His Power.

Congratulate each other for being open and honest about his/her unwise actions.  Pledge not to be angry when someone slips and that all discipline will be gentle.

Read Colossians 1:28 aloud:

“And we proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, that we may present every man complete in Christ.”

Second Day
Pray

Everyone state how other family members can help each other keep the commitments they announced in the last Our Time Together.

Read Romans 8:1 aloud:

“Therefore, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

Remember, this scripture.  Do not condemn others when they fall short of God's mark.

Read I John 1:8-9 aloud:

“If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Write down several words that best describe your family's desire to help each other live truthful lives.  (Practice your memory verse.)

Third Day
Pray

Read 2 Peter 1:3-4 aloud:

“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.  Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.”

Share your thoughts regarding how we benefit by living righteously.
(See below from Proverbs)

Blessings from Righteous Living

Has Joy………….Has Peace

Has Prosperity………….Is Blameless

Is Gracious………….Is Slow to Anger

Lives Securely………….Obtains Honor

Rejoices………….Produces Favor

Escapes Trouble………….Finds Compassion

Trusts the Lord………….Loves

Do you realize that conforming to God’s Word is your greatest power for obtaining contentment and inner peace in this hectic and corrupt world?

In the spaces below, write down words that best describe your family's attitude toward God's power.  (Practice your memory verse.)

Fourth Day
Prayer

Read aloud
:

Righteous Living, God's way, protects you from the pain of bad choices and produces moral victories as we deal with everyday issues and temptations.  Living God's way

results in inner peace and contentment.  However, righteous living does not give you God's eternal salvation.  Only by personally inviting Jesus into your heart, as your personal Lord and Savior, can you obtain everlasting life in God's presence.

Agree with each other to live truthful lives.  Pray for each other.  Sing and rejoice that:

1. You have just made a family commitment to live truthfully.

2. You know that God has worked mightily in your family.

3. You are empowered to be victorious over the lies, deceptions, and seductions of the world.

Read I Corinthians 15:33 aloud:

Do not be deceived: Bad company corrupts good morals.”

EACH ONE SHARE HIS/HER MEMORY VERSE.

In the spaces below, write down several words that describe your family's commitments to live truthfully.
